1996-2016: 20 Years And Counting!

The year was 1996. Picture This co-founders Maureen Marovitch and David Finch had recently co-directed their first documentary, the award winning “Longshots”. They were now field producers working on TV shows for rival Montreal stations.  With a second documentary in development in their spare time, they decided to launch their own production company and brainstormed the name “Picture This”.  Working out of a home office in Maureen’s Mile End duplex, the company grew from part-time to full time and eventually into its own current space in NDG with a team of 5 onboard and many more regular freelancers.

Since that beginning we’ve launched more than a dozen short fiction films and documentaries, and started a corporate video unit in 2008 that has produced hundreds of promotional videos. Where will we be in 20 more years? 2036 sounds far away, but the first two decades zipped by. Stay tuned for more of our ongoing adventures!
