HOW WE’RE SAFELY RETURNING TO FILMING

As of June 8, Quebec joined the growing list of Canadian provinces allowing the film and video production industries to resume live–action production. We’re excited to get back on set as we gear–up to restart filming. However, similar to most industries, how we do things will look and be somewhat different than before.

Here are some of the practices we’re putting into place for the safety of those both in front of and behind the camera.   

PRE-PRODUCTION 

  • Planning, research, and pre-production meetings with clients, crew members, and documentary subjects via phone and video calls. 
  • As much as possible, ask clients to help scout and view their premises and filming locations remotely using photos and video videos on video calls.   

 

ON LOCATION AND IN STUDIO 

  • During production, crews will be as small as possible to maintain distances of at least 2 meters at all times.  
  • As appropriate to the situation, our team will be wearing the necessary PPE, including gloves, masks, eyewear, and/or face shields. 
  • All equipment, props, furniture, and surfaces that we will use during a shoot will be cleaned and disinfected before and after each use.    
  • We’ll provide disinfectant (and soap and water on locations that permit) for frequent hand cleansing throughout the day. 
  • We’ll maintain 2-meter distances during rest and lunch breaks  
  • All food and drinks we provide will come packaged as individual servings 

 

OUR AUDIO RECORDING STUDIO 

  • Only one voice actor or narrator will be present at a time in the audio recording booth
  • Our microphones will be disinfected before and after each use 
  • Physical barriers (full partitions) will be installed in the audio recording room if any situations require more than one voice actor in the studio
  • Our team will always be wearing the appropriate and necessary PPE for the studio
