Of Cree/Ojibwe/European heritage, David Finch is one of the founders of Picture This and has been producing and directing documentary series and features since 1993. His greatest passion is social issue documentary, and his award-winning films include the street youth trilogy Longshots, Backroads and Still Longshots and the wildly popular documentary When Two Won’t Do, a road trip about living life outside of monogamy. David’s work has also been nominated for numerous international awards, including top honours at Hot Docs, the Columbus Film and Video Festival, the American Indian Film Festival, and an International Emmy® nomination for Longshots, co-directed with Maureen Marovitch. Still, with such a full schedule, David teaches digital filmmaking and media studies at Champlain College, plays cello and bass guitar, and builds model trains in his spare time.
